While I was browsing a bit today I came across a very interesting video from Microsoft. Below you can view an excerpt of that video, but to really appreciate the whole thing you should head over to istartedsomething to watch the entire clip. While I certainly applaud Microsoft’s marketing department for this fine piece of work, I’m a bit skeptical that we could reach this level of seamless technological nirvana within the next 10 years.
Don’t get me wrong; Microsoft’s hopes for the future are more than appealing given the emphasis on simplicity and all. I’m just curious if they can provide it without another Z-day fiasco ruining that geriatric tree-dweller’s fancy digital newspaper.
How long do you think it would take for us to advance to this level of on-the-go computing?
I only wish I could make something like this up. Apparently
So I was sitting around the house trying to think of what to post today and it occurred to me it might not be a bad idea to talk about some of things I do (or want to do) when I’m bored. Anyways,I looked around for a while and came up with a list of 25 geekish things to do when you’ve got nothing to do! I tried to compile a pretty decent array of activities but If I missed anything, be sure to let me know, will ya?
As many of you know, Punch-Out!! came out today after being in retirement for quite some time. Little Mac is back with a slew of his old rivals and a few new ones to keep him on his toes as he fights his way to the top. Naturally I was more than thrilled with this and got home from work as quick as I could so I could go snag a copy at my local, anonymous, super game store. So how does it stack up against its predecessors? Read on and I’ll let you know some initial impressions I’ve had and what you’ve got to look forward to as Doc Louis whips Mac into shape for the third time.
In 2006 Showtime debuted Dexter, a crime drama based off a series of books written by Jeff Lindsay. Many of you may be assuming that Dexter can’t possibly bring anything new to the table, but this show’s twist is much darker than the crime dramas you may be used to.
I didn’t have a lot to do this weekend, so I thought I’d rent a game to get some quick achievement points. As fate would have it (bad pun intended), I opted for Wanted: Weapons of Fate. While initially I didn’t plan to actually finish the game, it ended up being far shorter than I’d expected- even by movie game standards. However, having now played it to completion, I’m confident in saying while it’s not the best game adaptation of a film I’ve ever seen, it’s certainly not the worst.
So I’ll admit we’re a little behind on today’s post, but that’s only because Nicole and I thought it would probably be pertinent to you know, actually get a microphone to record the podcast on which we’ve based the site. I’m happy to report that we’ve thoroughly tested the Blue Snowball USB Microphone via Nicole’s vocal stylings and I’ve done a few test runs in GarageBand. So far the quality seems to be superb with nary a bit of static, interference, or any other distortions to speak of. I’d love to post something more insightful tonight, but you guys will have to settle for this micro-update instead as Nicole and I are toiling away sorting out what topics to discuss for the show when we record tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned!
