Fable II: Knothole Island Price Cut This Week
For those of you who have been holding off on the expansion for Fable II, you should be pleasantly surprised to know that it’s 560 Microsoft Points this week as opposed to 800. The deal lasts until July 6th and will invariably make my dad very, very happy considering he’s a fanatic and all. As for me, I’ve already beat the game but still have plenty of side quests to complete and peasants to massacre as I continue amassing my ill-gotten gains to buy more and luxurious accomodations whilst severely overtaxing my tennants.
You can read more about the Xbox Live deal over at Major Nelson.
GeeksPodcast Episode 7: Revenge of the Warcraft Tablet
So I’m sure our episode titles become odder as time goes on, but maybe one day we’ll break away from mashing our subjects together. Until then though, check out our latest episode where we talk about how we were dragged back into re-activating our World of Warcraft accounts, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, meeting the artists behind Scarlet Veronica, and Nicole’s new Wacom tablet. Also of note, we’ll be doing a live taste test of Baconnaise next week (as long as we can find it).
Just When I Think I’m Out…
So this weekend our buddy Jon came over and much as I love him, I flat out loathe him at the moment. Why you ask? Because in one deft, influential, downright nefarious move he’s managed to re-ignite my interest in World of Warcraft and as such, I’m sitting here waiting for the latest patches to download so I can dive back into the fray.
Other than taking into my veins that sweet addiction that is Azeroth, today Nicole and I went swimming for a bit and watched a bit of The IT Crowd. Between relaxing and running around with Jon all day, we also picked up a Wacom tablet for Nicole to start work on some digital art and possibly a webcomic here on the site, but we’re still ironing out the details.
While Nicole and I are busy sorting out what we’re going to talk about on the show tomorrow, I figured I’d also let you all know of some updates we’ve got planned for the site. In addition to continuing to post on all things geek, we’re adding some enhancements including an eventual design change and also some improvements to how you can subscribe to the show. We’re still hashing out the details, but suffice it to say interest has steadily grown in our site and we’re having a blast keeping it updated for you all. So thanks for continuing to check us out and we’ll keep trying to find new ways to keep you entertained.
In closing, I’d love to stay and chat but I hear my 51 mage calling my name and I’m not one to leave a lady waiting.
Goodnight!
Funniest Nintendo DS Titles
Nintendo did such a smash bang job producing funny Wii titles that I just had to look up some DS games. As expected, there were plenty if not more games to add to this list. Enjoy!

Zombie Josh and Nicole!
So Nicole and I went to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with a bunch of our friends last night and while I can’t say I was overly impressed with the movie, I can say I was very impressed with what was waiting for us in the lobby. Set up outside the theater promoting their comic, Scarlet Veronica, were Jason Moody and Justin Greathouse. I’d never heard of Scarlet Veronica before, but Nicole noticed it immediately and we went over to check it out. They were both incredibly humble, down-to-earth guys and we had a great time just talking with them.
We bought four issues and while I haven’t had a chance to read them yet, I can say their artwork is phenomenal encompassing an incredibly distinct style characterized by bold lines and vibrant colors. I’d highly recommend you check out their site at http://www.scarletveronica.com. They were even kind enough to sign them for us and to top it all off did this awesome zombie charactiure of Nicole and I!
After all this the guys agreed to be on a future podcast or possibly just an email interview so we’ll be sure to put that up as soon as we can get together, but in the meantime you should definitely check out their site.
Keeping it Synced Part 2: DropBox
In my last post of this series I talked about using Evernote to keep all of your notes synced up across your various devices. That’s all well and good, but how about keeping larger files synced up and accessible? That’s where Dropbox comes in. Dropbox is an online service with a small installer for Mac, Linux, and Windows that gives you the ability to drag and drop your files to a shared folder that in turn is updated through a web interface. Read on to see how you can get set up with Dropbox and decide if it’s right for keeping your files accessible from anywhere.
4 Places to Find Cheap Games
If you’re like Nicole and I, odds are good you have a veritable mountain of games piling up in your basement or living room. However, unless you’re independently wealthy, game expenses can pile up exponentially between new releases, downloadable content, controllers, and accessories. Because like you, I don’t like the idea of taking out a second mortgage to fulfill my habit, I’ve turned to some areas besides my local Gamestop. Below I’ll go over 4 places I’ve found to gather up some cheap games.
Keeping it Synced Part 1: Evernote
If you’re anything like me, odds are that you don’t just have one computer or device on which you capture those important notes or eureka moments throughout your day. Between smartphones and work and home computers, it can be a pain trying to track down important notes you’ve jotted down at one point or another. Thankfully, I recently ran across Evernote, a fantastic application that not only allows you to capture voice, text, and picture notes, but also keeps them all synchronized through a streamlined web interface.
GeeksPodcast Episode 6: Ghosbustin’ Angels and Demons
Nicole and I just finished the latest, but sadly, with a noticeable lack of Sam this time around. Anyways, in this episode we give you our impressions on Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the return of Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel, a quick peak at Angels and Demons and new features of the latest iPhone OS 3.0.
