I
t all started a couple of weekends ago when Jon came to stay with Joshua and I. Jon brought his laptop so he could play World of Warcraft if we decided to watch a movie or do something he wasn’t equally as interested in. What ended up happening however, is that Joshua and I reactivated our World of Warcraft accounts and the three of us played for a few hours together on Sunday. Since then, I have been leveling my rogue at a steady pace while Joshua has been struggling to keep up with his silly paladin. This poor boy is now under the assumption that somehow he will rise above me in level, surpassing my character in every regard. This won’t happen obviously, and here are five reasons why.
- I don’t use a Horde leveling guide, I do it all by myself.
Joshua found a leveling guide that is supposed to get you to 60 or 70 faster than you can imagine, but so far he has been lagging behind. I have my own secrets to leveling the way I do, and I even shared them with him yesterday. Instead of being like “Wow, sweetheart, I should take your golden advice and follow Nicole’s leveling guide!”, he scoffed, saying that what I was doing was equal to cheating, which makes no sense. I choose to finish off my green quests first for the easy experience from fast kills and quick completion of quests. How is that cheating? - I can focus.
My poor co-host Joshua is such a geek, anything remotely geeky will capture his attention (that’s a compliment, of course!). I am the same way, but I am able to pick up a new 360 game/read Cracked.com’s dozens of lists/go see the latest Marvel movie and then go right back to what I am doing, which at this moment is leveling. Joshua doesn’t always remember what he was doing, and although it is adorable and I like to help him stay on track, it is an advantage for me here in Azeroth to keep my mouth shut and level quietly myself. This is evident when I stick to leatherworking and skinning as my professions. I’m an artisan in both and will continue to work hard to achieve that post 300 status. On the flipside, Joshua cannot make up his mind what he wants to do. Enchanting? Herbalism? Mining? Tailoring? They’re all so spectacular he can’t seem to choose. Not so good for him, excellent news for me. - I’ve been playing longer.
I started playing World of Warcraft back in late 2005 and ever since I’ve been going through periods of rehab and relapse. During my periods of relapse I find myself playing for quite a bit of the time, and through this I’ve gained much knowledge of this beloved game. I have had a character of every race and every class, and if I combine ALL of my character’s levels, it comes to a grand total of = 313. King of the castle, king of the castle, for sure. - I make more time.
For three days a week, nine hours a day I nanny for my boss at AGS. She’s only 18 months old, so she requires naps and an early bedtime. What do I do when she’s asleep? …sleep, but if this is going to be a race, I will forgo sleep and start leveling at work. Also, when I’m not cleaning or exercising or tanning at home, you can bet I’m running through Stranglethorn loading up on quests. I can still get every day things done, but I can also nerd out and play WoW between those chores. - I’m a girl.
It’s natural that girls are better than boys at logical thinking.
“Ennellekay gently pats Relariel.” Let the race begin!
