DJ Hero is Not Getting Me ‘Cited

This picture is the only good thing to come out of the idea of DJ Hero.I am not a die hard Daft Punk fan, but I have been listening to them since 2006, which I believe is longer than most since they recently started blowing up (anyone else remember them on Cartoon Network?). In turn, this means I’m a little bummed to hear that they’re going to be on the newest [Insert Instrument] Hero game.

I’m going to brag a little more and say that I got the first Guitar Hero game for PS2 for Christmas in 2005 before it was at every college party in the US. So it wasn’t until this year that I lost my respect for the Guitar Hero franchise, because at one point at the anonymous game store I work at we had 3 window posters up: Band Hero, Guitar Hero 5, and DJ Hero. Three games to all come out in the same year, right around the same time. Oh, and don’t forget Guitar Hero Smash Hits in June and Guitar Hero Metallica in March.

I’ve heard the “oh, everybody sells out if they get the chance” spiel already, and no that isn’t always true, so I was hoping it wouldn’t be true for Guitar Hero and/or Daft Punk. Bottom line, I guess I’m just emotional because I hate to see my beloved Daft Punk and Guitar Hero sell out with each other, in another crappy, forced expansion.

Don't be too bummed when commerce accelerates/saturates the market - we love capitalism. More choices often leads to better quality (cream floats to the top).
