Resident Evil: Afterlife Trailer

The Resident Evil movies are in no way the pinnacle of video game films, but they sure do try hard. Milla Jovovich is back again as Alice in the 4th installment in the series as seen below. I’m not saying that I’m going to go catch a midnight launch of this but I’m not saying I’m NOT going to go catch a midnight launch of this either. THINK ABOUT IT!

J Allard Leaving Microsoft After 19 Years

J Allard has been the poster boy for Xbox gamers for awhile now.  However, he abandoned us after launching the 360 into infamy by going to work on the mind-bogglingly successful Zune and now it looks as if his time at Microsoft has officially ended.  He’s left us with a lot of good memories though and we certainly wish him the best.  And we especially hope he doesn’t devolve from his snazzy makeover back to his far more terrifying yeti appearance pictured below:

Fallout: New Vags Collector’s Edition is Awesome

I’ll admit that while I really liked Fallout 3, it was the collector’s edition that ultimately drew me in what with its awesome lunchbox and bobblehead.  And now I find myself again drawn in by the tasty collector’s edition pictured above for the next incarnation, Fallout: New Vegas though I know full well I will never finish it just like I never finished Fallout 3.  Either way though, if you’re into collectory things you can read more about this little gem and preorder it Amazon!

Rock Band 3 Introduces the Keys

For Christmas of ’05 I received Guitar Hero for the PS2 and since then have played the life out of those games. Ever since that first play through I have been praying for a music game that incorporated the use of a keyboard (seriously, how easy would it be?). Five years later my wish is finally coming true.

Rock Band: Green Day’s demo is up and running on Xbox Live, and apparently when you finish with it this lovely image pops up. Yay for a third Rock Band, HUGE yay for the third, new bubble with a keyboard inside.

Can you imagine the possibilities this gives us? I seriously hope we can revisit existing Rock Band songs or they come out with some amazing, keys-focused DLC. Nothing would make me happier than jamming out to “Lady Madonna” on a little keyboard attached to the television. I vow to become a goddess at this. ;)

The Alan Wake Limited Edition Unboxing

Nicole and I recorded this the night we picked up Alan Wake, but are just now getting around to putting the video up.  Frankly we’ve been pretty enthralled with it so far, if only to unravel the mystery.  The limited edition is pretty swanky, though we’ve scarcely spent any time appreciating all of the additional niceities an extra twenty bucks affords you.  By the way, before all you eagle-eyed viewers point it out- we know we accidentally called the bonus disc the game disc!  Hence, the annotation added at about the halfway mark.  Anyways, if unboxing videos are your kind of thing you can get all the goodness below or hit our channel for more!

Columbus Hotspots: Glow Putt

So Jon, Jake and a few of our other friends went out Glow Putting this weekend over in Gahanna and while the photo gallery below may look more like a jungle rave, it really is good wholesome fun for the whole family.  It’s $7 to play 18 holes of indoor glow-in-the-dark putt-putt and we had a blast.  Plus, if you get a hole-in-one on the 18th hole you get a free slushie!  Granted I got two hole-in-ones *brushes shoulder off*, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the last hole.  Despite my sadness at missing out on a free Italian Ice, if you’re looking to kill an hour or two and find yourself on that side of town, it’s certainly worth a look.  Check out some admittedly low-res photos below and you can learn more by going to their official site.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Launching Sunday!

Just in case you forgot.  Unfortunately, I never completed the first one, but I’m surprised and simultaneously not-so-surprised that it’s getting nearly complete 10′s across the board from reviewers so far.  Nicole and I will pick this up at launch and likely do a video or at least some first impressions about how it stacks up against the original.  Of course, there are very few bad Mario games, but at a certain point when you’ve set the standard so high to reach those kind of heights with each successive effort becomes a challenge indeed.  Of course, it’ll be a little easier knowing that Yoshi’s back!

The Pirate Bay Goes Under!…for About an Hour

So, for those of you that go cruising torrent sites, you’ll be saddened and shortly thereafter hilariously uplifted to hear that the RIAA succeeded in knocking The Pirate Bay offline, albeit for a very, very short time. You see, by threatening TPB’s web hosting with massive fines, the world’s most beloved pirates were forced to relocate very, very quickly.  Of course, not content to just laugh off the RIAA’s feeble attempts, they’ve responded in LOLCat fashion on their blog which you should check out immediately if you’re looking for a good laugh.  Bonus points if you spot the hidden message!
