Oh yes, the new show that I’d touched on previously has finally made its debut. Ahem, it’s not an outstanding debut I’m afraid because I was down a co-host, but we did shoot in Packrat and it was a lot of fun putting it together. These super quick episodes will be a weekly series that will come out late every Tuesday night and highlight the comics coming out that following Wednesday morning.
A big thanks to Jamie, Theresa, Bob,William, and Jon for all helping bring it to life!
I’ve mentioned Packrat on here before, but now I’ve got some even more exciting news- we’re teaming up together for something brand new! While we’ve blogged for a long time, it’s time to get back to our original vision of the site. With that in mind, I’m pleased to announce a new show that is a joint effort between GeeksPodcast and Packrat Comics.
The show is currently scheduled to be published once every two weeks. However, depending on how long the editing process takes and how the skits go, we may increase or decrease that frequency. We’re taking a ‘wait and see’ approach 1)to make sure we don’t bite off more than we can chew and 2)to make sure that we don’t interfere with Packrat’s operations as Jamie and Theresa have graciously allowed us to shoot inside the store.
So what can you expect?
Well, for starters you can expect 5 to 10 minutes per episode and discussion entirely dedicated to comic books. Everything from what’s happening in the latest issues to reviews and showcases of our favorite local artists is fair game.
It will be hosted by myself at least and at least one other host who is still being decided upon. Nicole’s my obvious first choice but while she digs comics, her studies for grad school are taking up a big chunk of her time right now. Rest assured though that as soon as we get the format and script sorted out we’ll be ready to go!

The race to 80 is finally, officially at its end. It’s been a long, arduous battle and one that’s been an absolute blast. Take a listen to find out who was the victor as well as the skinny on the new WoW expansion, Cataclysm, Inglorious Basterds, what’s coming for consoles this week and as always, our geek of the week!
Nicole and I recorded our latest show yesterday and apologize for missing a week- it’s entirely her fault though as she propelled us into this cutthroat competition of sorts so please direct all of your hateful comments to her. It’ll be hard to come to terms with, but I think she’ll appreciate it in the end.

Nicole and I just wrapped and uploaded episode 8 to the interwebs with our first geek of the week! Take a listen to find out who as we also talk about The Hangover, Prototype, Panic at the Disco’s recent breakup announcement and a big week for Google. Also, we got a new coffee table today and decided to record on that in the basement while watching Spiderman 2, but kind of forgot about the mic being a bit too close to the fan on the Macbook which should explain if there’s a slight hum in the background (a mistake we won’t make next time!)
So I’m sure our episode titles become odder as time goes on, but maybe one day we’ll break away from mashing our subjects together. Until then though, check out our latest episode where we talk about how we were dragged back into re-activating our World of Warcraft accounts, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, meeting the artists behind Scarlet Veronica, and Nicole’s new Wacom tablet. Also of note, we’ll be doing a live taste test of Baconnaise next week (as long as we can find it).
Nicole and I just finished the latest, but sadly, with a noticeable lack of Sam this time around. Anyways, in this episode we give you our impressions on Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the return of Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel, a quick peak at Angels and Demons and new features of the latest iPhone OS 3.0.
This was a fun show to do as it’s the first time we’ve featured a guest. Sam really didn’t have much to do today so he came over and we kind of randomly asked him if he’d like to be on the show and he jumped at the opportunity to vent his quasi-frustration regarding the inappropriate use of downloadable content. We also got to talk with him about the forthcoming Ghostbusters video game and very, very briefly touch on some questionably ethical marketing efforts from WoW gold farmers. Good evening boys and girls! Nicole and I just wrapped episode 4 and it’s live now for your listening pleasure. We mainly talk about everything that happened this past week at E3 and I also explain my brief hiatus to celebrate my birthday. Speaking of which, I’ll be sure to post some pictures tomorrow of the nerdiest wine charms you’ll ever see- but for now? I’ve gotta go watch Simon Pegg in Spaced- another awesome birthday gift.
