I’m 21!

Super Mario 64, hollaSo today is my birthday and I tried to pick the geekiest picture to put on this website. I think this one does the job!

Josh and I started off the night with candles and jazz: “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Ella Fitzgerald (ahem, my favorite) feat. Louis Armstrong. I opened my card, which was very sweetly written, and then went to work on the purse-like container with the paper leaking out of it. He got me a Yankee car thingy (in memory of my missing vanilla tree), a Lavender-Lemon Yankee candle, a $25 gift card to Victoria’s Secret, Super Mario 64, and a Lego set of the Sear’s Tower (we went to Chicago together earlier this year). Just when I was hugging him and thanking him over and over he told me to close my eyes. I did, and when I opened them again there was a Tiffany & Co. bag sitting in my lap. After opening it very carefully I pulled out a heart-shaped silver necklace with the words “Dream a Little Dream” written on it over and over again. As soon as I made the connection with the song/jewelry/it was a beautiful necklace I started bawling like a dork for about twenty minutes (seriously, like twenty minutes straight) until we watched the seconds count down to November 11. I sound like a broken record, but it was an incredible night and I’m very blessed.

After that we went to Giant Eagle and I bought my fave wine coolers (not from prior experience, of course…): Strawberry Daiquiri. I had to convince the guy at the check-out that yes, this pink, strange looking piece of plastic is a real license, it’s just new. My last birthday present from Josh is that he actually watched part of Phantom of the Opera after nearly 11 months of trying to get him to watch it. And guess what? He likes it. Bwahahaha!

I’ll celebrate officially on Friday and next weekend at the birthday parties, which you will definitely see pictures of. Stay tuned! ;)
