McFarlane’s Top 5 Horrifying Toys

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m not a collector of action figures.  I was at one point, but sadly my sugar-laiden 6 year old brain couldn’t grasp the value of keeping all of those original TMNT action figures pristine in their packaging.

That being said, I’ve got friends who do collect them and through the years I’ve seen some pretty horrifying stuff.  I’ll provide relevant Amazon links where appropriate should you want some of these McFarlane monstrosities in your collection.

First up?

1. Twisted Christmas – Snowman

This is one of the lesser ones as far as pure horror goes for me, but taking something like Christmas and combining it with this kind of imagery is still pretty unnerving.  I mean, after dealing with the trauma of Bad Mr. Frosty from Clayfighter, looking at this thing is a delightful way to destroy your holiday cheer.

Mmmmrrrrggggllll!

For Christmas one of the presents Josh’s parents got me was a Murloc plush from World of Warcraft, and one of the best parts about it is that it makes the Murloc noise from the game (something like “mmrrrrgggglll”)! I squeezed its mouth in heavy anticipation and waited for the eminent growl – but no sound. I tried again, and again, and again, and each time it just stared back at me silently. I was a little sad, but not as sad as Lisa and Rusty since they swore it worked just two weeks earlier.

Fortunately, Jinx is super awesome about returns and mistakes and shipped us a new one, which I recently received. This new one is lively and makes up for the mute one’s shyness. Now they’re both sitting in our living room chilling oh so adorably and I need your help naming them! The new one came with an “Official Adoption Certificate” and has a name (‘Dagupan’), but I think their names should probably rhyme. What do you think?

Christmas Time is Here (22-28)

OH SNAP, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!1!As much as we love telling you all about the knowledge spilling out of our heads on your favorite games, movies and technologies, every so often there comes a time when we realize we gotta put first things first and put our virtual lives on hold. We spent a week with Joshua’s family and visited mine up in Ontario for Christmas, and really just got to take a load off for a week from (mostly) all school/work/website responsibilities. We hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas, or whatever it is that you believe in! Return to you soon! ;)
