The Young Veins in Columbus: Take a Vacation!

Here at Geekspodcast.com we had the privilege of taking a vacation last night. Our destination? “The Basement” concert venue in the Arena district of the luxurious Columbus, Ohio to enjoy the sounds of Look Afraid, Bad Rabbits, The Young Veins, and Foxy Shazam. In my usual concert fashion, I made Joshua show up at 4:00PM with me so we could guarantee front row. I (tried to) read for my literature class, Joshua played The Simpsons video game on his iPhone and we waited impatiently for 6:00PM to show up.

Road Trip to New Jersey!

Although I’m a huge music nerd, I never have been one to flock to the mega-super-massive type concert/festivals featuring every band to ever produce a myspace album (Lollapalooza, Warped Tour, etc.). Too crowded, too many bands I don’t care about, too wild. Today while I was browsing MC Chris’ tour schedule I realized the only other date that he was scheduled for was this concert called “The Bamboozle”. I remembered the name vaguely but was immediately hesitant because it gave off the super-concert vibe. However, after reading the lineup, I know now there is no way I cannot attend this gathering.

Star Wars in Concert!

IMG_4587So my parents are totally awesome for starters.  Last night, Nicole and I got to go see Star Wars in Concert in Cincinnati with my folks and man was it incredible. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO)was there as the master of ceremonies between re-edits of all six films as a live orchestra (beautifully represented in HD no less on a gigantic screen above them).  Thousands of people were crammed into the venue to check it out and to top it all off, Storm Troopers, Boba Fett, and even Darth Vader were walking around prior to the show beginning!  Below are some pics of the show, but if you wanna check out the official site you can find out if there will be any shows in your area anytime soon.  Thanks again, Mom and Dad!
