Michael C. Hall, the actor best known for his role as Dexter Morgan on the Showtime drama Dexter, announced today that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I suppose this post is a little more news-y than we usually go, but Dexter holds a very special place in your Geekspodcast hosts’ hearts, and this news was particularly heartbreaking.
However, he’s as optimistic as ever and considers himself ‘fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition’, which is currently in remission. He still plans on filming the fifth season of Dexter in the fall of 2010 and more importantly, will be undergoing treatment.
Before I utter (type?) any words, there are going to be SPOILERS in this post. Reader, you’ve been warned!
Nicole and I mean to podcast tomorrow (seriously this time) on account of having way more material to talk about. From Zombieland to Scribblenauts and the debut of the fourth season of Dexter, we’ve been keeping up on geekish things as much as we can as fall starts to kick off.
In 2006 Showtime debuted Dexter, a crime drama based off a series of books written by Jeff Lindsay. Many of you may be assuming that Dexter can’t possibly bring anything new to the table, but this show’s twist is much darker than the crime dramas you may be used to.
