Hall is as Brave IRL as his Character in ‘Dexter’

Michael C. Hall, the actor best known for his role as Dexter Morgan on the Showtime drama Dexter, announced today that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I suppose this post is a little more news-y than we usually go, but Dexter holds a very special place in your Geekspodcast hosts’ hearts, and this news was particularly heartbreaking.

However, he’s as optimistic as ever and considers himself ‘fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition’, which is currently in remission. He still plans on filming the fifth season of Dexter in the fall of 2010 and more importantly, will be undergoing treatment.

Dexter Season Four

Dexter, Season 4 PromoBefore I utter (type?) any words, there are going to be SPOILERS in this post. Reader, you’ve been warned!

Once again he is plummeted onto a slippery slope of secrecy and attempting to manage what he calls his ‘Dark Passenger’. Read on for a more detailed synopsis and my POV.

Stayin Busy

DexterNicole and I mean to podcast tomorrow (seriously this time) on account of having way more material to talk about.  From Zombieland to Scribblenauts and the debut of the fourth season of Dexter, we’ve been keeping up on geekish things as much as we can as fall starts to kick off.

On a somewhat related note, we traded in some games yesterday at every gamer’s favorite, veritable pawn shop and are now in the process of deciding which games to purchase over the next couple of months.  Chief among them (not speaking for Nicole at all necessarily) are DJ Hero, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Brutal Legend, and Uncharted 2. Of course, before I’ll even think about all those I must finish Arkham Asylum and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 or I just won’t respect myself in the morning.

What about you all?  What games would you like to see us ramble on about?
