Unfortunately, it’s not for the new Silent Hill as Yamaoka is now signed on with Grasshopper Manufacture and has stepped away from mine and Nicole’s favorite video game franchise. The Silent Hill 3 video below will let you hear some of McGlynn’s vocal stylings, but ‘You’re Not Here’ is one of my favorite video game songs of all-time- bar none. We’ll be sure to put more updates here as we learn more about this new outing and Yamaoka’s continued musical endeavors.

Merry Christmas from Dante’s Inferno?
So uh, that kooky marketing team over at EA is back to promoting Dante’s Inferno in the most horrifying way possible. Don’t take my word for it though, head on over to this link to pick out your own incredibly morbid Christmas ornament, provided you can sleep with your decision tonight, sinner…
American McGee’s Alice gets a Remake
That’s right, the below teaser trailer was released this week and shows definitively that a remake (or re-envisioning?) of American McGee’s Alice is on its way sometime in 2011 courtesy of EA. I fondly remember playing the original years ago and while I thought much of the platforming and game mechanics were more than a little buggy, the presentation was amazing and I don’t expect that this remake will be any less alluring. Marketing for Dante’s Inferno is Creepy as Hell
Why EA didn’t see fit to send Nicole and I the same $200 check that they sent Destructoid baffles me. Clearly we are just as committed to gaming culture (mostly) as they are, but after seeing this dastardly piece of paper I’m not sure I would’ve wanted the thing to begin with. Long story short, they’re scaring the sh*t out of a lot of the gaming press by sending marketing materials that are based upon the seven deadly sins. I’ll admit, I’ve had only a passing interest in Dante’s Inferno but after seeing some of the more recent videos of this re-imagining of the classic poem I’m starting to get a little more excited. Are any of you getting pumped for some underworld evil slaying?
Experiencing and Anticipating “The Sims 3″
On Sunday Josh and I drove over to Easton to enjoy the weather, the food, and for him, the Apple Store. I was pleasantly surprised however to find that they offered a demo of The Sims 3, the newest rendition of The Sims franchise. Although it didn’t allow gameplay, I did get to experience exactly what making a Sim character would be like in the newest version of the number one selling PC game of all time.
