Video: Mad Moxxi Costume Update
Nicole’s been pretty busy so I put together a short video with an update on how her Mad Moxxi costume was going. Enjoy!
Mad Moxxi Costume Tips
Halloween 2010
There are always a thousand ideas bouncing around in my head for Halloween. In fact, November 1st is usually my brainstorming day for costumes for the next Halloween. There’s always the Sexy-fied version of [insert Disney Princess], a pin-up chica from the 40′s, one of a bazillion of my favorite movie or television show characters (ahem, the “hot” Ghostbuster), or my favorite selection, some doll from a video game. I prefer this because it is typically unique, a challenge to pull off, and because there aren’t enough cosplaying events in Ohio.
Very surprisingly though, this year there was no indecision in my mind about what to be. It was crystal clear. Ever since the Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot expansion released for Borderlands, I’ve had a huge crush on her. Maybe it’s cause I have this weird obsession all things circus, or maybe because of her humor and spunk, or maybe because she’s just hot. Probably all of them. The point of this post was to get that out there and to prepare all of you for my inevitable Halloween costume posts. Expect videos!
DLC #2 for Borderlands

Gearbox announced their second DLC package for October’s RPG/FPS blockbuster, Borderlands. Titled “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot”, this DLC is scheduled to come out on December 29 for 360 users and January 7 for those on the PS3. Unlike Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, this package is less plot focused and more centered in on raw action and for multi-player craziness.
“Mad Moxxi”, who could be Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls’ video game doppleganger, changes husbands like she changes clothes, and apparently to find her new groom-to-be they must first attempt to survive her “underdome”. There are three domes: Hell-burbia, the Angelic Ruins and The Gully. In each of these, the player(s) will be faced with waves (specifically five) of different types of enemies (think the Fight Club quests from the original game). There is only one new quest: to survive each new dome. As easy as this may sound and even though you may have kicked serious butt when you did the Fight Club quests, this new DLC is supposed to challenge the player like they’ve never been challenged before. I suppose we’ll see for ourselves come December/January!
Maybe I just haven’t followed other games this closely, but I feel like Gearbox is really trying to pump out the DLC for this game. I absolutely love it, but I’m still finishing up Dr. Ned and my first char is only level 40 out of 50. Give those of us who have jobs and other obligations a chance to catch up first! But in the end, doesn’t matter. I’ll fall for it, end up buying it and play the life out of it until they release their next package.
