So Makato Wada, an original member of the development team that ported Punch-Out!! recently revealed a 22 year old secret regarding the NES classic. Are you ready? To get that ever-elusive body-blow on Bald Bull there is a cue that will keep you in tune with the timing required. Right when he charges, there is a light in the right of the audience that flashes to alert you. Alright, it may not be an epic secret, but to me, a long-time fan I can’t believe back then and even today that it never occurred to me to look into the audience for clues. It makes sense when you think about it considering other visual cues among the boxers, but it’s baffling for me to think no one caught this after over 20 years. As many of you know, Punch-Out!! came out today after being in retirement for quite some time. Little Mac is back with a slew of his old rivals and a few new ones to keep him on his toes as he fights his way to the top.
