So Makato Wada, an original member of the development team that ported Punch-Out!! recently revealed a 22 year old secret regarding the NES classic. Are you ready? To get that ever-elusive body-blow on Bald Bull there is a cue that will keep you in tune with the timing required. Right when he charges, there is a light in the right of the audience that flashes to alert you. Alright, it may not be an epic secret, but to me, a long-time fan I can’t believe back then and even today that it never occurred to me to look into the audience for clues. It makes sense when you think about it considering other visual cues among the boxers, but it’s baffling for me to think no one caught this after over 20 years. You can read more about it over at destructoid.

Little Mac in Training!!
Nintendo has never really had a problem marketing its products, but I had to chuckle at this latest commercial featuring a real-life Little Mac and Doc Louis to promote the new Punch-Out!!. I admit, I never got to play Super Punch-Out!! but I have a lot of great memories of bludgeoning Glass Joe in the original and I still hold it as one of my favorite NES games of all time. How many of you are looking forward to the Wii version?
