The Packrat Show: Episode 3

Our show with Packrat Comics continues this week with Episode 3.  There’s another video deal, updates on the Muppets tribute in Packrat’s basement, coverage of 3 new comics from last week and a new video deal that you’ll have to watch for to take advantage of!  Also in this episode is  a call to action for you, the viewer, to help us find the best name for the show.  If we pick yours then you’ll be handsomely rewarded with a gift card to Packrat Comics!

To stay up on Packrat’s show, deals, and other local comic news, be sure to follow them on Twitter or check out Packrat’s Facebook page.

Enjoy and yes, we added outtakes to this episode!

GeeksPodcast and Packrat Comics Team Up! Episode 1

Oh yes, the new show that I’d touched on previously has finally made its debut.  Ahem, it’s not an outstanding debut I’m afraid because I was down a co-host, but we did shoot in Packrat and it was a lot of fun putting it together.  These super quick episodes will be a weekly series that will come out late every Tuesday night and highlight the comics coming out that following Wednesday morning.

A big thanks to Jamie, Theresa, Bob,William, and Jon for all helping bring it to life!

YouTube Classic Scare: Vader Horrifies Wife

Alright, I know that posting YouTube videos is pretty cheap, but I’m really trying to stick with the 31 days of horror theme here.  In truth, I meant to do another haunted Columbus post, but unfortunately the post I started about the Kingsbury Run Murders actually turned out to be the far more descriptive Cleveland Torso Murderer.  As you can see there’s nothing about Columbus in that so, frustrated I resorted to posting the following video which, admittedly, is still pretty entertaining.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more horror!

We’re Teaming Up with Packrat!

I’ve mentioned Packrat on here before, but now I’ve got some even more exciting news- we’re teaming up together for something brand new! While we’ve blogged for a long time, it’s time to get back to our original vision of the site. With that in mind, I’m pleased to announce a new show that is a joint effort between GeeksPodcast and Packrat Comics.

The show is currently scheduled to be published once every two weeks. However, depending on how long the editing process takes and how the skits go, we may increase or decrease that frequency. We’re taking a ‘wait and see’ approach 1)to make sure we don’t bite off more than we can chew and 2)to make sure that we don’t interfere with Packrat’s operations as Jamie and Theresa have graciously allowed us to shoot inside the store.

So what can you expect?

Well, for starters you can expect 5 to 10 minutes per episode and discussion entirely dedicated to comic books. Everything from what’s happening in the latest issues to reviews and showcases of our favorite local artists is fair game.

It will be hosted by myself at least and at least one other host who is still being decided upon. Nicole’s my obvious first choice but while she digs comics, her studies for grad school are taking up a big chunk of her time right now. Rest assured though that as soon as we get the format and script sorted out we’ll be ready to go!

So there ya have it- a new show set to debut this October brought to you by GeeksPodcast and Packrat comics!

If you have any feedback or ideas you’d like to see featured then by Mjolnir TELL US so we can make it happen! Other than that I’m still fully expecting every last one of you to come make the Walking Dead premiere a raging success.

Help Me Organize My Comics!

So as you can see in the below video I’m in a bit of a dilemma with my comics and I need your help, Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous Internet User.  This all came about after I tried the trial version of collectorz.com’s Comic Collector software.  It seems slick, but before I plunk down $24.99 for it I’d rather get the opinion of some seasoned comic collecting veterans, so enjoy!

Ba-Con 2011 – Interview with Thom Robertson, Creator of Artemis

Continuing the rest of our Ba-Con coverage, below is my interview with Thom Robertson, the creator of Artemis.  Now, I should say that while I did get to interview him about his game, I also had the pleasure of playing it and let me say it truly is a fantastic experience.  The gameplay is tight, and having a group of friends stepping into the shoes of the Enterprise crew (so to speak) is crazy fun!  I put the link in the video, but in case you don’t wanna watch me yammer on just head on over to the official Artemis website and try the demo for yourself- you won’t be disappointed!

Our Video Tribute to L.A. Noire

Nicole and I have been loving L.A. Noire.  It’s an incredible leap forward for the industry and while I’m not going to launch into a review here, I will direct you to the video below this text.  However, before watching it realize that yes, we know it’s not perfect, but we tried to get it posted quick for everyone and hope you all enjoy watching it as much as we did making it!

30 Day Video Game Challenge: Day 6

Aaaand we’re back and in case you’re all wondering- yes, I sorted out the wings situation and it was delicious.  This video’s a little bit different because we brought on a debonaire friend of ours, Kyle.  So watch below and enjoy as we continue our (admittedly slow-paced) trek through 30 days of moderately hard-hitting video game questions!

30 Day Video Game Challenge: Day 4

Last time we talked about our favorite SNES game and while Nicole and I had a bit of a disagreement on the eligibility of Super Mario All Stars, we still had fun debating it.  Today’s question is a bit more broad than I’d have liked, but we soldiered through it just the same.  Oh, and just for the record- my selection was not that obscure.  I’ll be looking to all of you Raziel fans out there to voice your support!
